TV Diner reviews: Max Fish

(NECN) - Glastonbury CT is quickly becoming a dining haven and we headed down to check out Max Fish. This newest of the Max Restaurant Group, Max Fish, offers the bounty from the sea!

If you're in search of truly superb seafood at a fun and trendy spot, check out the newest of the Max Restaurant group's winners, Max Fish.

This swanky hot spot features a raw bar where you can pull up a chair, a hip dining room and 'The Shark Bar' where all of Connecticut is coming for awesome drinks.

The menu is of course filled with fish options. Diners can chose between the dining room menu and the pub menu while which offer many innovative seafood, meat and pasta choices.

We started with the Crab Cakes. Moist and full of tender crab meat, these were served with a tangy remoulade that was the perfect enhancer.

The Maki Roll was fresh and delicious with plenty of tempura rock shrimp inside. Great for sharing.

The Sea Scallops were prepared masterfully. Large and golden on the outside - these were artfully seared and served with whipped potatoes.

We had the Halibut char grilled and served with asparagus. Though simply prepared, this dish had an outstanding taste and lightness.

The Key Lime Pie was excellent. Tart and refreshing, with a rich, crumbly crust,, this was possibly the sweet we've tried.

The Hot Fudge Sundae was made for sharing. Enormous and dripping with thick hot fudge, this was impossible to finish, despite our best intentions.

Service was excellent at Max Fish. As with all of the Max Group locations, all staff were courteous, professional and knowledgeable.

Apps averaged $9, entrees $25 and desserts around $8. An excellent value for great food in an atmosphere that set the standard for a great night out.

As you might have guessed - Max Fish earned the Platinum plate. Located at 110 Glastonbury Boulevard in Glastobury and can be reached at 860-652-3474(FISH) or on the web at
