Chilly Weekend Ahead, Snow for Some

A cold pocket of air will drop into New England this weekend, resulting in high temperatures in the 40s and 50s on Saturday, and just the 30s and 40s on Sunday.

As if the chill wasn't enough, a series of small disturbances will move in, providing a few chances of snow in the higher terrain of Northern New England.

The first disturbance will arrive Thursday night into Friday. For most of New England that will come through with just a few extra clouds and some spotty rain showers. Though in the mountains of Northern Vermont, Northern New Hampshire, and parts of Northern and Western Maine, cold air aloft will allow for some snow showers to mix in as well.

A second disturbance will move through on Saturday. Again, that will likely result in some snow in the higher terrain of Northern Vermont, Northern New Hampshire, and parts of Northern Maine.

It's too early to know exactly how much snow will fall, but the highest peaks stand to see a few inches courtesy of some upsloping effects of a westerly and northwesterly wind.
