Sun Shines, Temps Spring Back

Gusty winds brought down a few trees in New England today. As those winds howled, they also moved the cold air around. After peaking near 60 in Southern New England, we shriveled to the 30s and 40s in the evening.

"Better" still, the wind chills dipped into the 20s and 30s. "Novemberrrr" indeed!

More chill in store tomorrow, but the afternoon temperatures recover to respectable levels thanks to a quick exit to the cold and less wind.

That's not to say that the wind will drop off entirely. We need it to bring back the mild air on Sunday. While we start in the 20s and 30s in the morning, the sun (and wind) will push us back into the 50s and low 60s. The fun doesn't stop there with the warmth. Highs in Southern New England could top 70 in a few spots Monday with a milder start and still more sun.

All this sun during the cloudiest month of the year? No wonder we're still in a drought.

Warmth is cut short by a developing storm on Tuesday. A swath of rain will spread north as a low pressure system forms offshore. Our biggest issue? Tides are extremely high already thanks to Earth's close proximity to the moon, so any onshore wind will surely cause flooding along the shore roads and beachfront homes.

Check back for updates, and enjoy all that golden sun this weekend.
