For the time-being, New England continues to enjoy pleasant summer weather, but changes are ahead.

Summer warmth comes without all that much humidity today, and aside from some recurring showers straddling our border with Canada, the region remains dry with high temperatures in the 80s for one and all.

Clouds will gradually increase today, thickening tonight and yielding a few showers as soon as Tuesday morning, when humidity increases in the atmosphere.

The chance of a scattered shower or storm lingers much of Tuesday amidst humidity and highs in the 80s with a busy south and southwest wind.

As the week progresses, New England will inch ever closer to an active jet stream wind flow aloft, and a coincident surface frontal boundary separating cool from warm air – and while a break in the action is expected for most on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are likely to bring rain and showers, respectively, as small waves of low pressure ride along the nearby front.

Conditions are expected to improve for the weekend before a renewed chance of thunder toward the end of the exclusive 10-day forecast.
