Late Tuesday Clipper Snow

Light snow and flurries could fall in New England late Tuesday.

A fast-moving clipper system Tuesday will bring a brief period of light snow and flurries to New England during the afternoon and evening. This system will be moisture starved, most New Englander's will only get a coating to an inch of snow. The Cape and the Islands, Coastal Essex and Plymouth counties in Massachusetts could see closer to 2 inches of snow because the storm will likely deepen a bit as it heads east overnight.

Aside from the light snow, Tuesday will be a chilly and cloudy day with highs only in the teens north and for most of southern New England. Urban areas like Boston, Hartford, Providence and Cape and the Islands will make it to the low 20s. Conditions improve Tuesday night as the weak storm departs, but it will be another cold night with lows in the single digits and teens for many.
