National Guard members have been out in force along Massachusetts' South Shore, as coastal communities brace for the blizzard that's hitting over the weekend. (Published Friday, Feb. 13, 2015)

Massachusetts' coastal communities are bracing for the blizzard that's hitting over the weekend.

The town of Scituate took a beating during the Jan. 27 storm, which saw its seawall broken and homes battered.

National Guard members have been out in force along the South Shore. In Norwell, they have been digging out fire hydrants and making streets passable.

More snow means an even higher risk for roof collapses.
