Midweek Storm En Route for Parts of New England

Mostly sunny and seasonable today, with the colder exception of the far north country of New England...And that temperature spread plays out overnight tonight with lows around 20 south, but close to zero at the northern border. A developing onshore wind will mean a quick expansion of clouds in eastern New England Tuesday morning, then for most of New England during the day Tuesday, yielding more clouds than sun and correspondingly cool temperatures topping out in the 30s. Though most of Tuesday is expected to be dry for the six state region, southwest Connecticut will see snow breaking out during the evening commute...

And Tuesday night that snow expands north across New England, changing to freezing rain and then rain for many, but leaving Wednesday morning slick spots for the deep interior of southern New England...

And snowy conditions for some in central and northern New England. As Wednesday progresses, milder air takes hold with temperatures into the 40s and plain raindrops by afternoon...And 50s with showers by evening.

Thursday dawns with heavy rain and thunder accompanied by strong wind gusts that may result in scattered power outages...

Then as rain departs, mild air remains with highs in the 50s. Friday and the weekend look breezy and cooler ahead of the chance of some light snow early next week in the exclusive early warning weather 10-day forecast.
