Snow Hitting New England Saturday

Snow should be the dominant precipitation by the time we reach dawn on Saturday

After our recent mild weather, Friday will not be a banner, Chamber of Commerce day, by any means! We are in a transition period between the mild air that graced us with its presence on Wednesday and Thursday and a cold shot of air heading in for the weekend. Expect the steady rain to end

A dynamo of atmospheric energy will sweep in along with a sharp dip in temperature overnight tonight. This will change rain showers to snow showers from north to south. Snow should be the dominant precipitation by the time we reach dawn on Saturday. It should snow all day long, especially in southern New England east of Worcester.

I'm not expecting major weather-related travel issues, though. Aside from some slick side roads in the wee hours of the morning, the main streets and highways should be fine. All roads will be mainly wet by afternoon as air temperatures will be above 32°.

The snow winds down Saturday night and clears out for a dry, albeit chilly, Sunday. There are even rumblings of another snow storm coming just in time for April Fool's Day; no joke! Make the best of things and have a safe, happy weekend!
