Spectacular Sunshine Continues for New England; Storms Ahead

Storms threaten by late week

Spectacular sunshine continues this week, with temperatures climbing all the while.

We’ll climb into the 70s for high temperatures on Wednesday under that sunshine, but at the coast a slight seabreeze will develop knocking temperatures down a few degrees during the afternoon.

More sun is on the way for Thursday as high pressure remains parked overhead, with highs surging into the 70s and even close to 80 in some spots.

A warm front arrives with increasing clouds, and a bit more humidity on Friday. Highs will again reach the 70s for many, but a trailing cold front arriving during the afternoon and evening will trigger some scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in Western New England.

With another front arriving on Saturday, a second batch of scattered showers and storms is likely to flare up Saturday afternoon and evening. Between the two batches though, there will be several dry hours. Highs reach the 60s to near 70.

A few showers will linger into Sunday morning, especially in Northern New England, but those will exit as cooler air gradually moves in during the day. Highs reach the 50s to low 60s.
