Super Setup!

Storms fired today from the South Shore to the coast of Maine, but not everyone got a drink of water.

Watching the storms from Metrowest and Greater Worcester a lot of folks were wringing their hands and looking on at "what could have been". As the drought wears on, there is plenty of "rain envy" going around.

While I'm watching one more chance at a few storms late Friday and Friday night, I'm also a realist. Chances are a lot of cities and towns will come away with little more than some passing clouds and a change in wind direction when the front comes through Friday night.

It's a double-edged sword. While we lament the lack of rain, we also celebrate the stellar beach days and beautiful weekends. Timing is everything in weather, and the timing couldn't be better for the holiday weekend.

That front I spoke of will slide offshore Saturday morning, allowing the dry air to flow back into New England. The sunny skies will stretch straight through the 4th with comfortable, starry overnights. We should hold back the sea breezes until Monday, but with highs in the 80s, it's not a deal breaker.

    Enjoy and be safe!
