The End of Space Savers?

Historic winter marked by vandalism as those shoveling snow reserved spots

Neighborhood leaders around Boston want to do away with parking space savers, according to The Boston Globe.

After residents dig out parking spots for their cars, they often leave anything from lawn chairs to coffee tables in the cleaned out spaces.

Because of the historic snowfall this winter, Mayor Marty Walsh allowed space savers to remain in place longer than the unwritten 48-hour rule.

Many groups have already voted in favor of the ban.

Necn business reporter Peter Howe will have more on this story later this afternoon.
