Showers moving though with some heavier downpours. Cloudy. Lows in the upper 40s. (Published Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016)

Since Halloween falls on a Monday this year, some towns have scheduled Halloween events and have designated different trick-or-treat times. If you and your family are going trick-or-treating Sunday evening in southern New England, make sure to bring your umbrellas (or accessorize your costume with it). Otherwise, northern New England will remain dry for Sunday evening.

We could see some areas of patchy fog through the overnight hours (how spooky!), but showers should move off the coast just after midnight. Drier and cooler conditions move in for Monday as high pressure takes over New England. Expect plenty of sunshine by day; but by nightfall, mostly clear skies will allow those temperatures to drop very quickly, so make sure all the ghouls, goblins, witches, pirates, are all bundled up for trick-or-treating.

Tuesday remains on the cooler side, before we see a warm-up by Wednesday that sticks around for Thursday before showers move in for Thursday. We could see high temperatures into the mid – upper 60s for the middle of the week before they drop to seasonable conditions by next weekend.

If you cannot believe it’s already Halloween 2016, do not forget to “fall back” next Sunday as Daylight Saving Time ends.  I hope everyone has a safe and fun time on Halloween.
