For our Friday evening, temperatures take a dive after sunset as skies clear. Overnight lows will drop into the lower 20s south to the mid-teens farther inland and north.

It will feel much colder as the northwesterly wind picks up. Wind chills overnight will dip closer to the single digits.

Saturday is another sun-filled day, but one of the coldest days since February with high temperatures struggling to make it out of the 20s. Wind chills will likely be in the lower 20s as it will be breezy.

Sunday starts off with sunshine before clouds move in ahead of system snow that moves in as early as Sunday evening.

Plowable snowfall is possible through early Monday morning for Boston before the rain/snow line shifts northward, so get ready for a messy Monday morning commute. A wintry mix to rain along the southern coast of New England and along the Cape & the Islands. For areas farther inland, and slightly higher elevations, could see a few inches of snowfall through Monday morning. The weather models still cannot agree, but pockets of three to six inches of snowfall are possible for the Berkshires, higher elevations of southern Vermont and New Hampshire.

Early estimates of how much snowfall is expected through Monday morning. There is still some uncertainty with the extent of the snowfall and how much in certain areas.

However, exact timing and path of the rain/snow line is still up in the air (no weather pun intended), the reason being there are still some weather variables that need to come together as this system is just forming and starting to strengthen in the Northern Plains. In the extended forecast, winter is here to stay as another deep chill moves in by the end of the next work week with high temperatures only reaching into the low to mid 20s.
