2 Homes to Be Demolished Saturday on Plum Island, Mass.

(NECN: Lauren Collins, Plum Island, Mass.) - Two homes will be torn down Saturday on Plum Island, Mass. in the wake of the storm that wreaked havoc on parts of coastal New England.

One of those homes, at 43 Annapolis Way, has essentially been taken down by the nor'easter. Part of it washed into the raised ocean at high tide and now lies collapsed on the beach.

A neighbor's home has also been destroyed. Five to seven more homes may ultimately need to be torn down.

The town of Newbury and homeowners on Plum Island have been fighting with the state for years to try to rebuild the barriers that have been taken away by past storms.

Weather conditions have improved, but Friday night's high tide remains a concern.

NECN reporter Lauren Collins has more.
