Beating the Heat in Boston

People sought to stay cool on a day when some saw record-breaking temperatures in some areas (Published Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014)

(NECN: John Moroney, Boston) - Meet Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Lydon, married in Boston on the hottest day of the year - a definite sign of good things to come.

Over on Newbury Street, it was hot as well. The sun beating down on people as the waited nightfall and cooler temperatures.

The popular spots were bars and restaurants with outside patios or seats at the window. The hot weather is good for business, especially after last weekend’s cold and wet start to the summer. A recent graduate of the Boston Conservatory, Aubrey Holmes like the warm weather on Newbury Street and so does his violin.

Back on the South Boston waterfront, the Lydon wedding was winding and cooling down. The reception took place at The Daily Catch, where a sea breeze helped to make temperature more hospitable.
