Big Waves Cresting in Scituate, Mass.

(NECN: Julie Loncich, Scituate, Mass.) - By 10 p.m. Friday in Scituate, high tide was passing, causing waves to come up over sea walls in the harbor.

Winds were whipping around, and snowfall was beginning to significantly accumulate.

If you though the Blizzard of 2013 wasn't going to be much earlier, think again.

By 8 p.m. Friday, downtown Scituate, Mass. was a downright whiteout.

NECN's travels took us down side streets, which were surprisingly relatively clear, but the thick, heavy, wet snow was already taking down limbs and lines.

"We are looking for the high tide. We are kinda nervous about it, but more nervous about the morning high tide," said one resident.

"Snow we can deal with, water not so much," said another resident.

Flooding in Scituate is a real concern, as low-lying sections of Oceanside Drive were already taking on water.
