Blizzard Boosts Business at Ski Areas

(NECN: Melissa Toupin, Shrewsbury, Mass.) - The Blizzard of 2010 meant white gold for local ski areas. For Ski Ward in Shrewsbury, the bounty of snow comes just as many Central Massachusetts families are enjoying school vacation week.

When the snow comes down in inches there's one business you won't hear complaining.

Jen Anderson is the manager of Ski Ward, and says 8 to 10 inches of the powdery white stuff fell on the trails overnight and she's now expecting big crowds.

Monday marked day one of winter vacation for many local schools- which brought out a younger crowd.

But even near whiteout conditions at the top of the hill didn't stop skiers and boarders from hitting the trails.
