CT Gov. Malloy Asks President to Declare Pre-landfall State of Emergency

(NECN: Brian Burnell, CT) - People are getting ready for Hurricane Irene, and Gov. Malloy has asked the President to declare a pre-landfall state of emergency, which would allow the state to tap into federal resources and funds before Irene hits.

If you live in a flood-prone area, Gov. Malloy asks you to get out by noon tomorrow. He doesn't want to have to have mandatory evacuations.
