Coastal Flooding May Be Most Damaging Factor

(NECN: Tom Langford, Scituate, Mass.) - Along the coast of Massachusetts from Cape Ann to Cape Cod, the high tide at 3 a.m. caused some damage, as high waves overtopped seawalls and sent feet of water into seaside streets. In Scituate, Massachusetts, where they are no stranger to coastal storms, boat owners kept an eye on their boats, but some owners acknowledged they were a little surprised by the ferocity of the storm.

Meteorologist Tim Kelley says there is evidence of wind damage to roofs and buildings, but the full scale of the problems won't be evident until after the sun rises today.
