The National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office in Taunton, MA, overseeing Southern New England, has run the data for 2012, and the results are impressive: among other impressive statistics, 2012 has taken the top spot as warmest year on record for all major metropolitan areas in Southern New England where credible climate records exist.  The National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office in Burlington, VT, has also run the data for Burlington, finding similar results in Northern Vermont.  Here are the findings:
