(NECN/CNN/Getty Images) - Ancient discoveries are not all that uncommon in the Middle East, but this one is catching the attention of many.
A ferocious storm in Israel collapsed part of a cliff, and revealed a statue that dates back nearly 2,000 years.
The white marble statue of a woman wearing a toga and sandals stands 1.2 meters tall and weighs about 200 kilograms. It was found with no arms or head.
A person walking on the shore at Ashkelon on the coast of west Jerusalem made the discovery.
Paula Hancocks reports.
