I had the pleasure of speaking with Ed Rappaport, Deputy Director of the National Hurricane Center, on Thursday evening. You could say Ed is a hero of mine! I grew up as an adolescent and teenager watching his hurricane reports and idolized him when my love of meteorology was blossoming. It was wonderful to talk with him Thursday night about Hurricane Irene.
