Gov. Patrick Declares State of Emergency in Mass.

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has declared a State of Emergency in response to the reports of numerous tornadoes and severe weather.

1,000 National Guard members have been called up to assist in rescue and response efforts.

19 communities have been affected by the tornadoes.

The Governor says he has heard of at least one death, and 20 injuries. At least 26,000 people are without power across Massachusetts.
