    (NECN) – Sunday’s heat caused problems for runners in Simsbury, Conn.

    Temperatures were in the mid 80's at the Amica Iron Horse Half Marathon.

    At least seven people were sent to the hospital for heat-related injuries and illnesses. Crews treated several others suffering from the heat.

    Volunteers sprayed runners with water as they ran by to keep things cool.
