Heavy Rain and Flooding Continue in India

(NECN/CNN - IBN: Haryana, India) - Flooding in Haryana and Punjab has created fresh breaches.

They have occurred in the last 24 hours in Hansi Butana canal, causing flood waters to gush into agricultural land and people's homes.

Army personnel are trying to plug the breach.

Close to 90 villages have come under water.

The worst off is Moonak village that now resembles an island, surrounded by the waters of the Ghaggar river.

Flood waters have begun to recede from Patiala but that's causing flooding in Kaithal district. National disaster rescue force teams are patrolling the areas with 20 boats.
