Heavy Rains Flood Australia Near Canberra

(NECN/AUBC Australia) - They are calling it a once in a lifetime flood.

The city of Queanbeyan, just outside Canberra, has been declared a natural disaster zone, after torrential rains caused the river to rise three meters, in just three hours.

And, it's not the only part of the nation underwater.

The Murrumbidgee is on the rise again -- and it's another anxious wait for residents in Wagga Wagga in new South Wales.

David Lewis reports.
