House Washes Into Ocean in Washington

(NECN/KOMO) - A house in North Cove, Washington has lost its battle with Mother Nature.

A cabin that was teetering on the edge of Washaway Beach made good on the name.

The cabin's owner says the property has eroded about 750 feet since July 2009. In fact, the Washington State Department of Ecology says Washaway Beach is the fastest growing eroding area on the entire Pacific Coast.

It has been losing an average of 100 feet per year -- for a century.
