Hundreds Without Gas Heat in Methuen, Mass.

(NECN: John Moroney, Methuen, Mass.) - Hundreds of people in Methuen, Massachusetts have been without gas heat since last night. Crews say it could still be a while before the problem is solved.

Due to a loss of pressure, a gas main in the city shut down, causing the gas outages.

Columbia Gas is in the process of restoring gas to all residences. Columbia Gas service personnel are going door-to-door to inspect natural gas appliances.

A shelter has been set up at the Timothy Grammar School at 45 Pleasant View Street.

All schools in the city have been closed for the day.
