Hurricane Irene Could Bring Flooding to New England

(NECN) - Meteorologist Danielle Niles explains that while Hurricane Irene is a Category 2 hurricane in the Caribbean at the moment, by the time it hits the U.s., it will have strengthened to a Category 3.

The storm is expected to hit the coastal areas on the eastern seaboard, and be a Category 3 storm through the Carolinas. As it travels further north, it will decrease in strength.

However, the rain it brings may trigger flooding in New England.
