(NECN/CNN: New York City, NY) - Nasty storms hit the Big Apple Monday night.
Lightning made the New York City skyline even brighter.
And hail blanketed neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Hoboken, New Jersey.
The National Weather Service says some areas got about an inch of hail and others got that much in rain.
A few subway lines were delayed because of the storm.
Forecasters say thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected to keep up throughout the night.
