Lynch Asks for Disaster Declaration for NH

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch has asked
President Barack Obama to declare portions of the state have
suffered a major disaster as a result of heavy rain, wind and
flooding from March 14 to April 2.

Communities and the state estimate damage to be more than $3
million. On Monday, Lynch requested a declaration for Hillsborough,
Merrimack, and Rockingham counties.

If Obama approves the declaration, the state and communities
would receive assistance to cover emergency operations and repair
costs.
