Maine Crews Working Diligently to Restore Power to Thousands

(NECN) - Following a brutal ice storm this past weekend, tens-of-thousands of Maine residents were left without power. Power crews have been working relentlessly to get things restored to normal.

Gail Rice, spokesperson for Central Maine Power says the latest outage numbers stand at about 21,000 accounts, down from an estimated 123,000.

Rice believes the outages can be reduced to less than 10,000 by the end of the day Thursday. An impending storm moving in is causing for serious concern though.

A tremendous amount of help is being given in the restoration process. Crews have come in from as far as Canada to aid in the effort.
