People can't be forced to leave but the town says you could be putting yourself in danger if you don't evacuate (Published Friday, Jan. 17, 2014)

(NECN: Scot Yount, Salisbury, Mass.) – We’re checking in at Massachusetts' north shore, where our Scot Yount is in Salisbury.

There’s a mandatory evacuation order in effect there, but, as Scot tells us, they can’t force people to leave. A lot of people did leave, mostly to go with relatives.

High tide is at 7:36 a.m. and officials are pretty concerned about it.

The real problems are the wind and storm surge, which is forecasted to be at least a couple of feet over the normal high tide.
