MassDOT: Crews Will Start Early Ahead of Weekend Snow Storm

(NECN) - Massachusetts Department of Transportation official says crews are gearing up for this weekend's nor'easter.

Highway Administrator Frank DePaola says the storm, which is expected to be a 24-hour event, will bring between three to six inches of snow to the greater Boston area.

DePaola says crews will begin pre-treating roads ahead of the storm, and will be plowing throughout the storm to make cleanup easier ahead of Monday morning's commute.

DePaola says the MBTA will also bring in additional staff for the storm and are prepared to clear snow from station platforms and key bus stops. He also says the MBTA will run trains Saturday overnight into Sunday to keep the tracks clear.
