(NECN) - Mass. Governor Deval Patrick says state employees can go home at 3 p.m. Thursday, and is encouraging private employers to release employees early as well in light of a winter storm slamming New England.
Governor Patrick says MassDOT has been pre-treating roadways and is prepared to clear roads as quickly as possible. He also says MEMA is currently activated to Level 2, but transition to Level 3 - full activation - at 7 p.m. Thursday.
He also asks residents to stay off roads and if asked, to quickly evacuate their homes ahead of flooding conditions.
