Massive Wildfire Threatens Calif. Town

(NECN/NBC News: Jay Gray) - A massive wildfire continues to burn on the outskirts of Yosemite National Park, threatening the nearby town of Tuolumne, Calif.

The fire has already charred close to 150,000 acres and now threatens more than 4,000 homes.

Thousands of firefighters are on the ground, throwing every weapon they can at the massive fire as the flames inch closer to several communities along the western edge of the blaze.

Their efforts are being hampered by 40 mile-per-hour wind gusts.

Crews are now moving door-to-door to warn residents and check for anything that could be sparked by floating embers.
