(NECN: Ally Donnelly, Mattapoisett, MA) - The harbor is getting hammered in Mattapoisett. Residents say they haven't seen it this bad, not even with Bob because Irene is much more sustained than he was.
At least one boat flew from the water and smashed into the sea wall.
The police chief says officers have been kept on their toes with Irene and have been answering calls for fallen trees and down wires.
Some residents are poking at mother nature, playing in the water and letting the wind gusts throw them about, but that's not advised.
