Millions Flee as Flooding in India Kills at Least 17 People

(NECN/DDI) - Major flooding has wreaked havoc on northern India.

Officials in Uttar Pradesh state say floodwaters have killed at least 17 people and washed away more than 1,000 homes.

Some two million people have been forced to evacuate.

Temporary shelters and medical facilities are being set up.

Forecasters are predicting more rain in the coming days and a flood alert has been issued for 18 districts.
