National Guard Mobilized Ahead of Expected Flooding in Mass.

(NECN: Brad Puffer - Sudbury, MA) - Governor Deval Patrick has declared a state of emergency ahead of the expected flooding in Massachusetts.

700 National Guard troops have been mobilized with hundreds more are on standby.

Patrick is telling residents to watch the weather closely and be ready to evacuate if necessary.

The Governor says he expects all the rivers in Massachusetts to reach flood stage.

That includes the Charles River putting new pressure on the Moody Street dam in Waltham.

Officials have been monitoring it closely since the storm two weeks ago.

NECN reporter Brad Puffer is in Sudbury, Massachusetts with the latest.
