Some are even excited for shoveling snow. For the first major storm of the season, the hassle is necessary, especially for those who are ready to hit the ski slopes.
It's that backyard effect that ski resorts in Maine have been fighting, which is if people in Boston and Portland aren't seeing snow in their backyards, then they're not as likely to go to the mountains.
