New England Works to Clear Snow Before Next Blast

(NECN: John Moroney) -  It seems everywhere you look, there are mountains of snow. With more snow and rain in the forecast this week, officials have a few warnings for homeowners.

In Wilmington, Massachusetts, residents and officials are trying to get two feet of snow away before the next wintry blast moves in.

Forecasters are calling for rain, sleet, and now on Tuesday, and possibly again this Friday. The next storm isn't supposed to give us as quite much snow, but there is a lot of rain in the forecast.

Melting is taking place, creating large icicles everywhere you look. Walking around can be tricky, given the size of the giant snowbanks.

The amount of snow in towns north of Boston is eye-opening. It isn't a record, but people aren't interested in getting any more.

Fire officials are urging people to take simple steps to make their job easier, by doing things like clearing snow off fire hydrants in their neighborhood.
