Norwell, Mass. Gets 18 Inches of Snow in Winter Storm

(NECN: Ally Donnelly, Norwell, Mass.) -  People on the South Shore of Massachusetts were hit the hardest by the winter storm.

Norwell, Mass. got an accumulated 18 inches of very light snow.

For most people, the issue isn’t the snow, but the bitter cold, which can be taxing on a person’s health.

Dan McCarty woke up to shovel at 2:00 p.m. He shovels all over Norwell, at places like the post office, church, and rec department.

"Not bad- nice and light. Can't complain about this," McCarty said with a laugh when being asked about the difficulty of his morning. "It's pretty much what they were saying was going to happen. I'm glad it's as light and fluffy as it is."

Travel was almost back to normal by noon on Wednesday, and Norwell police and fire said they have had quiet mornings.

In addition, Norwell Town Administrator Jim Boudreau said that residents are used to this type of snowfall.
