(NECN: John Moroney, Springfield, Mass.) - State officials are putting an initial dollar amount on the tornado damage in Massachusetts. The preliminary numbers are staggering.
The estimate from state leaders is $90 million and counting. They say that number is a record.
On Monday, federal disaster teams assessed the damage around Western Massachusetts, counting the number of homes and businesses impacted.
They also noted the severity of the destruction.
