Officials: Stay Off Wintry Roads If Possible

    Slow traffic, spin outs and more serious crashes were common as the snow fell (Published Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014)

    (NECN) - If you're heading out on the road, be careful, officials say.

    There are scattered reports of slow traffic and spin outs all over the area, but a few crashes on Saturday were more serious, including one this morning on Route 18 in Middleboro, Mass.

    Police say a semi-truck and a Toyota sedan collided, with part of the car stuck under the truck. The driver was rushed to the hospital, and that person's name nad condition have not been released. The exact cause of the Middleboro crash is still under investigation.

    Mass DOT says people need need to be careful when driving in these conditions, and to reconsider getting behind the wheel if possible.

    Meanwhile, for people taking to the skies, most flights were on as scheduled at Logan International Airport on Saturday. An airport spokesperson warned that increased cancellations are a possiblity on Saturday night.
