Pipe Burst at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital

(NECN) – At around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, a pipe burst on the sixth floor of the in-patient building at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

This caused flooding on the sixth floor and floors below.

As a result, elective surgical procedures, the cath lab, and EP lab procedures are being postponed.

Some patients are being relocated to floors that have not been impacted, while the emergency department is diverting other patients to nearby hospitals.

It is unclear if the pipe burst was caused by cold weather.

Patients whose appointments are being impacted will be notified by phone.
