Power Restored in Worcester After Severe Thunderstorms

(NECN:  Josh Braogadir - Worcester, Mass. - Brian Burnell, Bristol, Conn. - Matt Noyes) Lightning hit six substations in Worcester and knocked out power to customers in the Worcester area. Meanwhile strong winds also knocked out power and downed trees in Bristol.

Power was reported lost to 45,000 customers in Massachusetts, 38,000 in Connecticut, and 3,400 in Vermont.

Storms brought down trees in Essex, Vt.

Meanwhile, tornado warnings have been issued for Cumberland county and Portland, Maine, tonight.
