Recovery Efforts Begin After Deadly Tornadoes in Midwest

(NECN/NBC News: Jay Gray) Two days after a string of deadly tornadoes ripped through the Midwest, many families are just getting back to their battered neighborhoods and beginning the long, difficult cleanup and recovery.

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-4 tornado with winds close to 200 miles an hour was among the nearly 60 tornadoes that hit on Sunday.

That storm struck Washington, Ill., one of the hardest hit towns.

In all, at least eight people were killed, and hundreds of homes were destroyed.
