Rhode Island Governor: I-95 in Warwick Will Likely Still Be Closed Thursday

(NECN/WPRI) - Rhode Island Governor Don Carcieri held a news conference this afternoon to update Ocean State residents on the storm.

Carcieri says residents should brace for the fact that I-95 in Warwick will likely remain closed tomorrow morning. National Guard troops have been deployed to key intersections around the state. The goal is to keep traffic moving as best as possible, given the circumstances.

Rhode Island residents are being asked to limit their water and electricity usage, as the flooding has knocked out sewer and power infrastructure across the state.

Officials in Warwick and Cranston in particular are asking people not to flush toilets unless absolutely necessary, do laundry or do anything else that would cause water to go into the sewage system.
