Senator Kerry: ‘Never Seen This Kind of Devastation in Massachusetts'

(NECN: Monson, Mass.) - Massachusetts Senator John Kerry spoke at a news conference on Thursday after touring tornado damage in western parts of the state.

"There's an enormous amount of work to get done," said Kerry.

Kerry said he's never seen this kind of destruction and devastation in Massachusetts.

Residents of tornado-damaged parts of the state are being urged to stay off roads, schools are closed and state workers have the day off. A state of emergency has been declared in Massachusetts.

At least two tornadoes struck on Wednesday afternoon during storms that killed four people and injured dozens more.
