Severe Weather Threat Looms Over Plains States

(NECN/CNN/KOCO/KSHB/KCRA) - With each day it seems like the deadliest tornado season in a half century only gets worse. The threat of severe weather looms over the plains states again. This is as the search for survivors continues in several hard hit areas.

A rash of tornadoes has devastated parts of the nation's mid-section. Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas are among the states affected by the deadly storms.

While deadly weather continues to move across the nation, survivors are working to pick up the pieces and find missing loved ones.

With more than 500 people killed so far, 2011 is the deadliest tornado season in the U.S. since 1953. Severe weather has also struck Indiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Tennessee, bringing everything from tornadoes, high winds and golf ball sized hail.
